Homey, Lover, Friend!

Does anyone remember that song from the early 90s by R. Kelly? I used to love that song. That is how I feel about my husband. He is my everything. We have been together for almost 15 years and married for almost 13 of them.

We have always been friends first. We share everything with each other. This is probably not believable, but we have never gotten into a fight. We have disagreed on certain subjects, but never fought about it. We call or text each other several times a day. Just to touch base with each other.

I actually need more work on being his help meet. The house is not always clean when he gets in. If we have had a busy day home schooling, I am worn out. My cooking is improving. I have added a few more family favorites to my repertoire.

I love this verse in today's article.

"Train the young women to…love their husband.” Titus 2:4

It reminds me that Jonaya is watching me. She is going to treat and care for her future husband the way she sees me do it. That is a lot of responsibility.

  4. I wish more moms thought about that - how their children are learning how to treat their future husbands. I can only remember my mother saying 2 things good about my dad, and even that was said with a 'tone'.
