Home Management Binder

I am reorganizing my Flylady journal to better suit my purposes. It was helpful, but it just wasn’t quite working for me. I got this idea from another blogger, so I decided to copy hers.

Here is the front of it.

I have Sumner Home Management on the front with a family picture. Sorry, I know it’s a Christmas one, but that is the most recent one I have with all four of us. I also have a little scripture above that.

The inside isn’t complete, but I do have the bare bones and it will be a work in progress.

Here is the first section.

My Schedules: I have my calendars, so I know who need to be where and when, every family member’s daily routines, and I will also add Birthdays and important phone numbers. I also have a page with weekly task that I don’t care who does it as long as it gets done.

I didn’t take pictures of any of the next sections, but it looks similar to the above one, with different pictures and verses.

Finances: I need to have all of this in one place. I probably won’t store the bills in there, but I will be able to keep up with dues dates and such with the calendar and just have my checkbook registrar in here.

Cleaning: In here, I will still have my Flylady detailed cleaning lists along with my recipes for my homemade cleaning products.

Meals: Here is my weakness. I’m not a very good meal planner. I have gotten so used to eating Pizza Hut (my husband works there) that I never think ahead until we get hungry. With all of the vegetables starting to come in in my garden I need to used them wisely. I’m not letting all of that hard work go to waste. You can even have shopping lists in here.

Health and Fitness: I kind of chuckled under my breath as I typed this one. I will keep all basic information on the family members along with a weight chart in here.

Children: I will keep track of the kids school stuff here. I do have a separate binder for Jonaya, but I want to have an outline of it on me, so I can plan ahead.

Those are all of the sections in my binder. I just need to get some page protectors for the sections with tabs. Then I want and envelope in the back to keep pens, scrap paper and a calculator.

So far, it is working out fabulous! I still may have to do a little bit of tweaking here and there, but I don’t think it will be much.

  1. Check out Menu Plan Monday over at www.orgjunkie.com for lots of ideas on meal plans. I do this once a week and we don't always stick to it day for day, but it gives us a general idea and helps me to remember to take something out for supper. I use the links to prompt me for the next week and for breakfast and lunch ideas.
